Immediate Media becomes the first media company to launch balance+ to its staff
balance+ is the world’s first medically approved menopause health and wellbeing companion for perimenopausal and menopausal women
balance+ is the world’s largest menopause app in the world, with users in 215 countries, with a mission to empower women with evidence-based medical knowledge about the perimenopause and menopause to help support diagnosis and access to treatment. balance+ is focused on removing barriers to menopause support, especially in the workplace.
Making the balance+ app available for all Immediate people, will provide access to specialist medically approved content and live sessions to help optimise their mental health, nutrition, sleep, physical health, sexual health and skin and hair.
balance+ has been designed to put the power into women’s hands, to help provide them with the relevant knowledge when seeking medical treatment, as well as supporting their family and friends during this time.
Recent research from balance shows that, since downloading the app, 74% of users agree that they feel more comfortable talking about menopause at work, 87% have been able to self-diagnose their perimenopause or menopause and 72% have managed to gain access to treatment after using the app.
Jo Brandl, Chief People Officer, Immediate says: “We’re delighted to partner with Balance+ as part of our strategy to build awareness and support to help women at Immediate who are experiencing challenges around the menopause and peri menopause to continue to live and work healthily. Going through the menopause or perimenopause comes with a variety of symptoms, some well-known and some less so. We want to raise awareness of what going through menopause involves and support those experiencing it. By offering balance+, we’re committed to looking after our people, driving the diversity agenda, and ultimately empowering our people with evidence-based knowledge and tools, to help them thrive.”
Gaele Lalahy, COO of balance, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Immediate, home of some the UK’s best loved media brands. Immediate recognise what it means to be a menopause confident employer and have committed to break long-standing taboos around menopause and protect their valued female talent. Through the distribution of our evidence-based balance app, Immediate’s people will have access to much needed evidence-based medically approved resources and tools to take charge of their future health and we hope this sets a precedent for other organisations to follow suit.”
The balance app is the only menopause app certified by ORCHA and recognised as safe, accredited, compliant, and trusted to feature in digital health libraries for the NHS and other national health bodies around the world.
