Dr Louise Newson on ITV’s Lorraine: Oestrogen and COVID-19

Published: 21st May 2020

Recently, Dr Louise Newson went live on ITV’s Lorraine show to chat to Lorraine Kelly about her exciting new research looking into the potential effects of oestrogen on COVID-19.

Dr Newson is working closely with Professor Tim Spector and the team at www.joinZoe.com on The COVID Symptom Study app, as well as collaborating with NHS England and a team at Liverpool University to explore whether oestrogen and HRT can help protect against coronavirus.

Dr Newson and Lorraine also dispel some of the common myths surrounding HRT and discuss Dr Newson’s work educating women and GPs about the importance of accurate, evidence-based menopause care.
